Reference Bicycle
1990 Jazz (Trek) Vertical
1990 Jazz (Trek) Vertical
Jazz was Trek’s expansion brand during the mountain bike boom. Similar to GT’s Mt Shasta brand and Specialized’s Full Force. Taiwan-made frame with Tange double-butted chromoly. Tange chromoly fork. We believe this is the first year for Jazz, and the only year they had a full chromoly frame. 17.5” frame. Frame has plenty of scrapes and scratches throughout (see photos). No dings, dents or cracks that we can find. Day-glo orange fluorescent paint doesn’t appear to have a lot of fading, but is dirty. Graphics have scrapes and scratches as shown. Frame and derailleur hanger appear straight and undamaged. Fork appears straight, plenty of scrapes and scratches. Headset feels smooth, seat post is free, hubs, freehub and BB feel fine.
Components are various levels of Shimano Exage LX. All parts appear to be original to the bike. No saddle. Bike is as-is and will need full tune up/restoration to make rideable.
