1991 Trek 2300 Pro Bicycle Vintage Road Bike Shimano 600, 52cm
Complete mechanical rebuild. All finishes and graphics (missing TT decal) are original. 600 Tri-Color gruppo with Sampson Ti spindle BB, titanium seat post and skewers. 3ttt cockpit.
The frame is aluminum with bonded carbon fiber main tubes and the fork is aluminum bonded to a chromoly steerer. Garage-wear on the frame, fork and components. The integrity of the carbon is good (seat post is free, no FD clamp or bottle boss damage). No crash damage anywhere. Day-Glo (fluorescent) yellow aluminum lugs and fork have some scrapes and scratches (see photos). No signs of fading on fluorescent finishes. Beautifully built USA-made frameset.
Headset has been repacked with Phil Wood grease. Sampson bottom bracket has sealed cartridge bearings that feel fine. Hubs are excellent and have not been repacked. Derailleurs have been disassembled, cleaned and lubed. Original Shimano HG chain checked for wear, cleaned, lubed and reinstalled with a new link pin. Original brake pads have been retained.
Complete Shimano 600 tri-color gruppo is original to the bike. Later model Selle Italia Flite Titanium saddle added. Nice hard anodized Matrix rims show minimal brake track wear. Wheels are true with slight runout on front rim.
Bike has new Continental tires and tubes. New Jagwire stainless cables and compressionless housings. New bar tape installed.
